Garden Gallery — Path 2 — Thoughts of an Angel
Thoughts of an Angel
Fluttering in Cyberspace
a butterfly came to me in the dark
whispering sweet things to cheer my lonely
heart.
Overwhelmed with joy my emotions escalate
unchecked.
Too soon,
I wish to tell her how much I love her,
with difficulty, I hold back
only to have those feelings gush out.
I know it’s wrong,
she is with another,
but still I wonder,
will this butterfly be mine?
She wants to fly to me,
but needs a decade more
to mother
two caterpillars.
I’m a fool.
Why do I feel this way?
Longing for a butterfly named Angel.
My heart will not be enough.
Though it pumps pure love,
it cannot long feed a family.
The usual relationship barrier
for a struggling artist.
I cannot wait a decade,
as she asks.
Not while I ache with passion and need
now.
So here I am.
Again,
in the cold depths of cyberspace,
wandering alone,
still thinking about an angel
that once wandered my way.
