Many politicians know nothing of the biosphere,
the ecology, the environment, or of any science.
Only the arts of manipulation, greed, and power...
as in The Prince, written by a frustrated,
exiled, politician in classic Italy.
We only have one habitable planet.
Do these misguided senators truly not know
the importance of a healthy, global, environment?
Or do they not care as long as they die
with a trillion dollars in their pockets?
Will the ultra powerful ever learn self-control,
and better manage the Earth's resources?
Will the aristocrats ever learn to conserve,
or will they plunder the Earth until it is empty,
like they do with our pocketbooks?
A nation that follows ancient Rome's lead,
of pillage and plunder,
may face the same fate...
torn and split asunder
by mismanagement and denial.
