Longing in the Dark
Sunshine,
my passion is greatest
when I think of you.
Must I always feel your warmth,
and be dimly lit,
from afar?
Must I live without your radiant body
against my drab surface?
Gravitational tides tear me up inside.
Must I stay trapped in orbit around another,
one brightly lit and beautiful,
but lacking the passion I feel from you?
Will I ever get to be with you my Sunshine?
Or will I always wonder,
as I wander,
what life could have been
within your warm embrace?
Marry me and be mine forever
my silent screams say.
Stay with me until the day the universe
fades away,
my heart pleads.
For you,
if only I could,
I would give up the Earth and stars
to be forever
your Moonlight lover.
