I'm Sorry
My dear friend Salma,
I have wronged you yet again.
In some way, I have offended you.
Although not my intent,
my words hurt you and caused you to turn away.
I hope you can forgive me?
In spite of my sometimes cold and callous words,
or careless and unthinking remarks,
I do care very much.
How can I take back what I have said
when time only moves forward?
Can I ever repair the wound I have caused?
Will getting on my knees,
or bowing with sincere chagrin,
help to heal your wounded heart?
Please tell me what I must do,
what it will take,
to win back your special friendship.
With the deepest of sincerity,
I beg of you, Salma,
please forgive me.
